Comrades near and far:
Graduation is nigh. So for those of you who are near, please join me as I defend my MA thesis, A Theater of Absurdity: Parody, Power and the Politics of Display at the 4th Berlin Biennial for Contemporary Art :
WHAT: Visual Criticism MA Symposium, hosted by the Department of Visual Criticism (soon to be renamed “Visual Studies”)
WHERE: the California College of the Arts, San Francisco campus (directions)
WHEN: Saturday, 31 March 2007, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Timkin lecture hall
NOTE: Lunch will be served at noon and a cocktail reception will bring up the rear. Another one will most likely follow it, location TBD.
For those who reside far away–sadly, this is most of you–please visit the VC website for more on the symposium, including links to my work and that of others. A shorter essay version of my larger project will also be published in the online and print versions of Sightlines, CCA’s journal of visual studies.
PS: In case you need to cut and run, I’m on the first panel at 10:15 am.
